The Registry House

A quiet roadside house holding faceless uniformed creatures who demanded to know "who holds authority" over each traveler — asking who owned them. Corvin, Vess, Myra, and Taara were admitted as Strahd's; Logi and Khione were refused. Khione's lie turned the creatures hostile; the fight ended with the building in flames and Vess pulled out of it (s18). Logi burned his hands doing it.
