Astor the Controlling
Magic colour: Green Followers: none recorded
Details pending — what Astor is, what the Controlling refers to, and what he wants.
Session 7
Astor took a whole scene from the party. The players themselves do not remember it — the forgetting is his work, and it is the reason that part of session 7 cannot be written up.
The party met him in the Sheriff's village, and 3 marks were given that session — by whom and to whom is unrecorded (see sessions/session 7.md).
They then met him in a tavern, where he told Nessa, Liora, and Percival about the deities and about a greater evil, a sickness (see quests/the-sickness.md). They were already aware of the sickness.
Unconfirmed — that the man in the tavern is Astor rather than the Sheriff. The identification comes from him being named as the cause of the forgetting in the same breath. Confirm before treating as canon.
Session 10
He was waiting at the lighthouse when the party arrived, and handed over a note.
Nothing else he said or did there is recorded. This is his second appearance in person, and the first where he gives the party something rather than taking it.
Open
- Whether the forgetting was aimed at the party or was a side effect of something else.
- Whether the mysterious man in the forest forgetting what he was doing there is also Astor's work.
- What he wanted from telling them about the deities and the sickness.
- Whether the 3 marks came from him, and whether they connect to the marking on the door in session 2.
- Where the note came from — whether he wrote it, found it, or is carrying it for someone — and whether he knows what it says.
- Why he brought it to this party, and whether he wants them to go where it points.
Current Status (as of session 10)
Has appeared in person twice: the Sheriff's village in session 7, where he took a scene from the party, and the lighthouse in session 10, where he handed them the note. Nothing recorded about intent either time.
