Session 8 — The Ritual Site

Details pending. The session is recorded in outline: the ritual site, the three threads, and the tree warden. Who was at the table besides Percival is unrecorded, and so is how the party got into the woods and how the session ended.

Context

Most of the session takes place in the woods. Whether these are the same woods the card drew the party into in session 7 is unrecorded; the forest file covers both until they are told apart. Percival was at the table — he is the one the warden went after.

The Ritual Site

In the woods the party found a ritual site. What the ritual is, who set it, and how old it is was not established.

Three magical threads run out of the site, each going a different direction. Nobody knows where any of them lead, and no one has followed one.

The Warden

The party did something to the ritual — what, exactly, is unrecorded. A large tree warden crawled up out of the ground.

It went straight for Percival, and slammed him against a tree. The reason is on record: he had said out loud that he set a small fire in the forest before. What he took from the slam, and how the fight or the encounter ended, is unrecorded.

• Where the three threads lead. Whether the number is a coincidence next to the 3 marks given in session 7 is unconfirmed.
• Whether any thread leads to the lighthouse the party found in session 10.
• What the tree warden is — whether it is the site's guardian, the forest's, or something the party woke by handling the ritual.
• The fire. When and where Percival set it, how small it was, why, and whether it is still burning. The party heard him say it.
• How the encounter ended, and whether the warden is still there.
• Who else was at the table.
• Whether these woods are the forest from session 7, and whether the eyes (probably the Watcher) were in them.
