What it does beyond the line on the card is not yet known. The subtext points at the deities — each tied to a magic colour, see deities/README.md — but whether the card reads a particular faith, a particular deity, or the whole system of them is unrecorded.

• Whose faith the card reads: the user's, the target's, or a deity's own design.
• Whether "flaws" means weaknesses that can be used against a deity. Astor the Controlling took a scene from the party's memory in session 7; the Watcher is unconfirmed.
• Whether the subtext describes the card's power accurately. The Maiden reads "protects all" and its test killed Percival.
• Whether testing it requires a wound, as the Maiden's test did.
