Ayrith

The capital of Ether, built around the Burning Tree.

At the highest point of the city stands a great castle overlooking the sprawling streets below, with the Tree growing at its centre.

The capital is beautiful, but rarely quiet. Zephyrians from all across Ether travel to Ayrith for celebrations, politics, trade and education.

The surrounding towns

Surrounding the capital are countless smaller towns, each known for something different. Some specialise in magical studies, others in weaponry, healing, history, or the many abilities of the Zephyrians.

It was in one of these towns that Taara learned to use her bow. She also studied magic and learned to defend herself with a dagger, though she never particularly enjoyed fighting. Even during her training she found herself more interested in watching and protecting than attacking — the Defender was there before the title was.

Away from the capital

The further one travels from Ayrith, the quieter Ether becomes. Eventually the roads disappear into Naaru.
