Session 10

Area U - Ruins of Berez

began with the party pushing deeper into Barovia’s suffocating wilderness, carrying grief, tension, and unfinished business. Area U: Ruins of Berez

The Walking Hut

Their path crossed with something ancient: a towering, living hut of twisted wood and bone — Baba Yaga’s hut. It did not behave like a simple monster. It moved with intent. It observed.

The encounter was chaotic and surreal. The ground shook beneath its steps. Windows blinked like eyes. The structure twisted as though it were deciding whether the party was prey, threat, or curiosity.

They survived the encounter. When the hut withdrew, it left the sense of having measured them and taken note.

The Restoration of Corvin

After the encounter, the party committed fully to restoring Corvin.

Using the three artifacts representing Mind, Soul, and Body, they completed the ritual to reconstruct him. It was unstable, unnatural — magic forced into alignment through willpower and desperation.

The ritual succeeded.

Corvin stood again.

Whole. Upright. Armed.

But wrong.

The land reacted subtly. The mist lingered around him. Sound dulled for a moment, as though Barovia itself had paused to acknowledge the defiance.

A part of corvins will went into the Heartbound Key (item) A part of corvins soul went into the Pendant of Nyss (item) A part of corvins body got attached to the Ring of attraction (item)

The Mirror

Before celebration could begin, Loki stepped forward and held up a mirror to Corvin’s face.

The reflection revealed the truth.

There was no flesh within the armor.

No face. No breath. No eyes.

Only a hollow suit of armor standing upright — animated, conscious, bound together by artifact and intent.

Corvin had been restored.

But not as he once was.

He was now something forged rather than born — a will inhabiting steel.
