Kept Memories — The Rest of the Book

Status (as of session 24): Active. Chapters 1 and 2 have been read aloud (by Logi, in the gallery); Taara has the happy half of her marriage back. Chapters 3 and 4 remain sealed in the book, which now sits on the bookshelf in the tower bedroom. Taara watched Strahd shelve it. Full item details and chapter text: items/kept memories.md.

The Standing Situation

• Strahd cannot lift his own curse. The book must be read by someone else. He needed the party for chapters 1–2 and needs someone again for 3–4 — except now he does not want them read. The same mechanism that restored the happy years would restore the reasons she left.
• Myra has warned Taara — without naming the book — that a certain book should not be read past a certain point.
• Taara's memory of the party being trustworthy is gone (taken during the confrontation, session 24). She remembers a happy marriage and has been shown Strahd's version of recent events. Myra's counter-showing — the whole campaign since Taara joined — landed, but belief is unresolved.
