Khione

She was freed from one of Morgantha's memory orbs, and everyone she knew is dead. She was the only one to slip past the entry-hall statues and reach Azhurielle after Strahd put her down.

Khione is a tabaxi paladin, small and compact, covered in soft white fur with pink inner ears and a full plumed tail. Her eyes are large, clouded, and pale violet-white — visibly blind, without pupil or focus, yet she carries herself with the accuracy of someone who has never needed them. Round-cheeked and calm-faced, she reads as young until you notice how still she stands.

Her armor is the opposite of understated: polished silver plate with heavy gold trim, a gold winged-star motif across the breastplate, layered pauldrons, and articulated gauntlets and greaves — kept immaculate. Over it she wears a deep blue cape and a blue-and-white tabard worked with gold starbursts, belted in brown leather. A case at her hip holds what look like drawing pencils. She fights with Nightmare, her halberd — a tall polearm with a broad silver blade backed by a gold winged star, the parting gift of the monk who trained her.

Canon notes: born blind; navigates by sound, touch, and trained sensitivity. Since session 24 she has permanent ten-foot sight, granted by Strahd — everything past ten feet is still darkness to her. She cannot read.
